About
Hi, my name is Melody. I started Creative Young Artists in 2013 with a strong belief that all children are gifted with a creative mind, and art is the best way to cultivate this talent.
With a deep passion for art, a fine art background and a big heart for children, starting a creative art class has always been my dream. Orginally born in Hong Kong, I came to the UK when I was a young child and London has been my home since.
I love interacting with children - they are the most creative people and constantly inspire me everyday, and I was lucky enough to be able to start my own art class last year. The aim of my classes are to cultivate my students' creative minds through art in a fun yet technical approach. I hope they don't only grow creatively in art, but also in their lives!
I believe all children are gifted with incredible imagination...

DEVELOPING CORE ART SKILLS
We believe it is important for students to learn all core art skills, which allows them to express their creativity artistically. We educate students with a wide range of fine art principals such as:
- Colour Theory & Mixing
- Artists Appreciation
- Lines and Perspective
- Texture & Contrast
- Composition
- Mixed Media
We develop their artistic skills by exposing them to different mediums and professional art tools which include: Gouache, Watercolours, Acrylics, Charcoal, Graphite Pencils, Canvases, etc. in order to deliver the most creative class to students.
-
ART INTERLINKED WITH ACADEMICS
We interlinked our creative art lessons with core academic subjects such as English, Maths and Science within the process of idea generation and creative exploration. Skills learnt in the art classes can inspire children to think creatively not just in art, but across all subjects as well as their daily lives.

DEVELOP CONFIDENCE AND OTHER QUALITIES
We build confidence in students by encouraging public speaking through short discussions, idea sharing and group activities. They will learn how to value their own ideas as well as appreciate others. Participation in creative group tasks allows them to develop their social skill on a creative level.

SMALL GROUP ART CLASSES
The small class size means each student will receive sufficient guidance and attention in order to discover their inner talents.
